Thomas Mehaffy, Principal
I have worked for nearly a decade at the intersection of law, technology, and global business. I’ve served as counsel to several global consumer tech companies, handling a wide range of transactional, intellectual property, and compliance matters across North America, Europe, China, and India.
My practice combines legal precision with commercial fluency, shaped by experience in both fast-paced startups and established multinational environments. I regularly assist clients with cross-border contracts, IP strategy, and regulatory risk—particularly in tech-driven industries.
During my studies, I interned with several Federal District Courts in the Eastern District of Texas and with the Beijing office of a leading boutique intellectual property firm. I also served as Symposium Editor for the Oregon Law Review. I studied abroad at Tsinghua University School of Law, Universidad de Granada, Peking University, and National Taiwan University, gaining a comparative perspective on law, business, and politics that continues to inform my practice.
I maintain an active pro bono practice, supporting nonprofit initiatives through the Austin Bar Foundation.
